Lumencor’s Mercury-free Lighting Featured in Tech News

Lumencor was featured in the May 2016 edition of Tech News, published by BioTechniques. “Greener imaging with mercury-free microscopy” highlights the innovative use of LED light sources in life science fields. The article quotes Ben Abrams, the facility manager of the University of California – Santa Cruz Life Sciences Microscopy Center, and touches on the many benefits of mercury-free lighting:

‘All around, it’s a nice way to go,’ Abrams says. The LED light source is generally brighter than mercury, according to Abrams, particularly at the far-red end of the visible spectrum.
